WP8

WP2

WP2 The coordination, management and decision process of SOCLIMPACT are described in section 3.2. They are formalised here in tasks, deliverables and milestones, for a better monitoring of project implementation. The main objective...

WP3

WP3 SOCLIMPACT requires the implementation of a sophisticated modelling chain, articulating climate projections, Climate Change impact assessment, modelling of socio-economic impacts, and scenarios building. This also require a...

WP4

WP4 WP4 aims at assessing the impacts of Climate Change through the development of a trans-disciplinary framework in order to analyse complex interactions among connected systems. This framework will allow setting up a chain linking...

WP5

WP5 The main objective of this WP is to estimate the economic values of changes in the Environmental Services of the marine and coastal ecosystems (inputs for Blue Economy sectors), due to Climate Change impacts and related policies....

WP6

WP6 This WP focuses on the assessment of the socioeconomic impacts of climate impacts and climate mitigation policies on islands. The methodological toolkit to be employed includes contrasted modelling tools that will be used in a...

WP7

WP7 The overall objective for WP7 is to create and rank tailored transition pathways for EU islands. It aims to identify critical decision points and their associated uncertainties in the development of adaptation and mitigation...

WP8

The main objective of this WP is the development and implementation of proper communication and dissemination actions, to ensure knowledge transfer and social awareness about CC consequences, and support policy makers and practitioners in their decision-making processes towards decarbonisation and adaptation strategies for islands. As a result of the actions proposed, the main challenge of this WP is to contribute to bridge the gap between science and policy.

Partners will implement a Dissemination Plan (DP), which has been previously defined under this proposal.

The Dissemination Plan has been designed in a very detailed manner, seeking to raise the effectiveness of dissemination actions and tools, and to provide new information about the economic and non-market consequences of Climate Change, as well as the socio-economic benefits of different climate actions in their territories, therefore facilitating decision making processes as well as incentive measures on different stakeholders to push forward the desired transition. The Dissemination Plan will be implemented to ensure that the research and innovation outcomes generate the expected impact of the project, in the medium to longer-term timeframe.

Meanwhile, this WP8 has also a broader scope, covering: i) the elaboration of the project image and proper communication activities, ii) guaranteeing the development of adequate technological tools that will support the communication actions and the Dissemination Plan, and iii) the correct management of Data and exploitation of results. All the scientific outcomes of the project will be disseminated following the H2020 Open Access Data Policy, in order to i) Improve the quality of results; ii) Obtain greater efficiency (fostering collaboration and avoiding duplication of effort); iii) Improve transparency of the scientific research; iv) and involve the society.

A Data Management Plan (DMP) will be created previously in WP2, and WP8 will be in charge of monitoring the correct implementation of this Plan. For the case of scientific publications, the DMP will ensure that the most suitable methods will be implemented, including the Green Open Access/Self-archiving, where the own researchers of the project will archive their material in the repository software after the publication, and/or the Gold Open Access, where the articles will be immediately provided in open access mode as published. Data management will be implemented through the Open Research principles, establishing free of charge access, mining, exploitation, and reproduction for any interested user.

This WP will include an internal audit for monitoring dissemination actions, in order to ensure the sustainability of the project. For this purpose, it was conceived the Importance-Influence Analysis Matrix (IIAM). Through the use of indicators of impact monitoring, the IIAM will allow to: i) evaluate the effectiveness of the communication channels used; ii) rank stakeholders’ groups according to their field of actions; and iii) measure the potential impact of the project upon each stakeholder in terms of how the results and the information will have been disseminated. The monitoring actions will be implemented during the project lifetime, accompanying each dissemination action.

Finally, a Regional Exchange Information System REIS platform and an IT decision-making support tool will be the most important dissemination tools, and an exploitation plan will be designed, to evaluate the potential commercialization of the tool, guaranteeing the sustainability of the project’s results after the project’s lifetime.
